Prof. Dr. Fritz Schmidt is co-founder and partial owner of ennovatis and the head of the R&D department at ennovatis. He got his diploma in physics in 1967. Between 1968 and 1969 he was a visiting research at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory USA. He got his doctoral degree in nuclear engineering in 1970. In 1994 his habilitation was accepted. Since that time till 2004 he was responsible for teaching in the field of simulation of complex technical systems. In 2000 he was one of the founders of ennovatis. He joined the company in 2004.

He has contributed numerous papers in nuclear engineering, building simulation, numerical methods and in the development of integral information systems. He and his coworkers also specialised on distributed systems and developed new technologies to support model based interpretations of data available in large online data base systems like energy management systems in buildings.
